We will be doing a scavenger hunt! No prep work needed. Just be ready to find items in your home as a part of the scavenger hunt. We hope this will be a fun time to see everyone's faces again and get to know each other more through the hunt! For more information and to RSVP, go hereIf you have any questions, please contact Julie Coleman at
  • Mercy Hill Men's Bible Study - A Journey through John 6: Men of Mercy Hill, we've already kicked off this study, but you can join in anytime! Paul Walton, from the Mercy Hill Men's team, is going to be leading a 7-week study through a single (and amazing!) chapter in John's gospel (ch. 6). The plan is to meet at the Walton Residence at 9:00am on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month beginning in September (we'll adjust for weather/holidays/etc. as needed). • Acts 29 Global Prayer Meeting: Mercy Hill Church is a part of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network.  Every quarter, we come together to pray with brothers and sisters around the world at our Global Prayer Meeting.  When someone attends an Acts 29 church, they are a part of a much larger story of church planting and the spreading of the gospel around the world.  Attending these Global Prayer Meetings would be a great way for you to become more aware of this reality and feel as though you are connected to this global mission and vision. The next Global Prayer Meeting will be on September 21st at 12:00pm PT. To join in, please register in advance for this event by clicking here.
  • Sunday Prayer Walk: We will be gathering after service next Sunday, September 26th at 1:00pm to do a prayer walk in the local neighborhood! So grab lunch after the service, and consider joining us to pray for our neighboring community, as we hope to have the opportunity to share the gospel with those who are open and ready to engage. We'll have a brief time before the prayer walk to discuss what to pray for, so we invite anyone regardless of experience to join and learn. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Chris Keener at

“He Is Not Here, But Has Risen”: Three Barrier-Breaking Effects of the Lord’s Resurrection (Part 2)

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

I Will Rise

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb."

Before the Throne

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.

Because a sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise the One,
Risen Son of God!

Behold him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I am,
The King of glory and of grace!

One in himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by his blood
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God
With Christ, my Savior and my God

Power to Redeem

You take what is
And you make it beautiful
When love floods in,
We're restored forever more

With breath that brings the dead to life,
With words that pierce the dark with light
Only by the blood are we set free.
With mercy strong to carry shame
and nail it to a tree
You alone hold the power to redeem.

No guilt competes
with innocence crucified.
No grave can hold what your grace has justified.
Rejoice oh child of God
Lift your eyes to see
With every morning light,
Again we are redeemed

The Path to Loving Others Well
Text: 2 Peter 1:1-11

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

Sweetly Broken

To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of it's suffering I do drink, of it's work I do sing
For on it my Savior, both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love and God is just

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love, I'm
sweetly broken,
wholly surrendered

What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given through Christ crucified
You've called me out of death, You've called me into life
And I was under Your wrath,
now through the cross I'm reconciled

How Firm a Foundation

How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He has said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed,
For I am your God, and will still give you aid;
I'll strengthen you, help you and cause you to stand,
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

So set them down
Set your feet on down today.
There's solid ground
In the foundation Jesus laid . . .
For us.

When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
For I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.

When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient shall be your supply;
The flame shall not hurt you; I only design
Your dross to consume, and your gold to refine.

The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake!

Goodness of God

I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God

All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God

I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest nights
You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a father
I’ve known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God

Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now, I give You everything
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me

Great Are You Lord

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

1.  Sing:

Lord I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

More Like Jesus

You came to the world You created
Trading Your crown for a cross
You willingly died, Your innocent life paid the cost

Counting Your stature as nothing
The King of all kings came to serve
Washing my feet, Covering me with Your love

If more of You means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You is all I need
Take everything

You are my life and my treasure
The One that I can't live without
Here at Your feet
My desires and dreams I lay down (Last half x2)

Oh Lord, change me like only You can
Here with my heart in Your hands
Father I pray make me more like Jesus
This world is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
So Father I pray make me more like Jesus
