Call to Worship

Beautiful

I see Your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say You're beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It's all proclaiming who you are You're beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home You're beautiful

When we arrive at eternity's shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We'll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we'll sing You're beautiful

TOday's Announcements

Here are a few critical announcements to keep in mind:

  • City Team Love Your Neighborhood Day: On Saturday, June 26th, Mercy Hill Church has the opportunity to join with CityTeam to serve the community.  We will staff a clothing distribution pop-up closet from 11:30am to 4:00pm at 1297 N. 13th Street in San Jose.  At these pop-up closets the community is invited to come "shop" for clothing, shoes, and other items that have been donated to CityTeam. The guests are given bags to fill with any items they need and there is no money exchanged. We will also be providing activities for children to do while their parents are shopping. This is a great opportunity for both adults and kids from Mercy Hill to serve together.  Kids must be 10 years or older to serve with the pop-up closet, but any age child can help at the kids activity table.  If you are interested, sign up here!  If you have any questions, please contact Becky Durstenfeld at .

Today's Sermon

Title:

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

His Mercy Is More

What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient, all knowing, he counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness, new every morn
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What father, so tender, is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more

What riches of kindness he lavished on us
His blood was the payment, his life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more

Way Maker

You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You I worship You

You are ... Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, healing every heart (part)
I worship You, I worship You

You are here, turning lives around
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, mending every heart (what You've found)
I worship You, I worship You

That is who You are
That is who You are
That is who You are
That is who You are

Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working

Mercy Hill Kids

While difficult, this pandemic does create a wonderful chance for parents to step towards their God-given call as chief disciplers of their kids.  We know this may feel overwhelming and that is why we want to help!  Parents of Mercy Hill children should have already received an email from the Director of Mercy Hill Kids, Christina Lugo, regarding ways you can utilize the Gospel Project curriculum at home.  This information has also been included on our blog here.  Beyond this, most Sundays, we are also hosting an online worship gathering for our kids.  You can check here for more details.  We'd love to have you join us!

If you have any questions or need help in any way, don't hesitate to reach out to Christina at

Call to Worship

Come As You Are

Come out of sadness, From wherever you've been
Come broken hearted, Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal

So lay down your burdens, Lay down your shame
All who are broken, Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home, You're not too far
So lay down your hurt, Lay down your heart,
Come as you are

There's hope for the hopeless, and all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table, Come taste of the grace
There's rest for the weary, rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't cure

Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are

There's joy for the morning, Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal

Today's Sermon

Title:
The Lord Makes You Holy
Text: Leviticus 22
Preacher: Chris Keener

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

Power to Redeem

You take what is
And you make it beautiful
When love floods in,
We're restored forever more

With breath that brings the dead to life,
With words that pierce the dark with light
Only by the blood are we set free.
With mercy strong to carry shame
and nail it to a tree
You alone hold the power to redeem.

No guilt competes
with innocence crucified.
No grave can hold what your grace has justified.

Rejoice oh child of God
Lift your eyes to see
With every morning light,
Again we are redeemed

Because of Your Love

Jesus you endured my pain
Savior you bore all my shame
All because of your love

Maker of the universe
Broken for the sins of the earth
All because of your love
All because of your love

Because of your cross my debt is paid
Because of your blood my sins are washed away
Now all of my life, I freely give
Because of your love, Because of your love I live

Innocence and holy king
You died to set the captive free
All because of your love

Lord you gave your life for me
I will give my life to you
All because of your love
All because of your love

You did it for me, you did it for love
It’s your victory, Jesus you are enough

Goodness of God

I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God

All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God

I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest nights
You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a father
I’ve known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God

Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now,
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me

At Your Name

At Your name the mountains shake and crumble
At Your name the oceans roar and tumble

At Your name Angels will bow
The earth will rejoice Your people cry out

Lord of all the earth
We shout Your name, shout Your name
Filling up the skies
With endless praise, endless praise
Yahweh, Yahweh
We love to shout Your name, oh Lord

At Your name the morning breaks in Glory
At Your name creation sings Your story

There is no one like our God
We will praise you, praise you
There is no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing

TOday's Announcements

Here are a few critical announcements to keep in mind:

  • First Sunday Family Service: As things continue to open up, we've now established a First Sunday Family Service rhythm. While families are certainly welcome to join us in-person every Sunday, on the first Sundays of each month we especially invite our families to prioritize gathering together in-person with the rest of the church body. For the service, families can sit at the covered picnic tables or bring a blanket, a tent, or pack-n-play to help corral the kiddos if needed.  We will be providing a simple craft and activity sheets for the kiddos during the service but will not be providing any snacks.  The water fountain is also off limits currently so please plan ahead.  If needed, we do rent out a porta potty that families can use.   An in-depth video about our safety measures and other important information can be watched here.  A  map of the outdoor service area can be found here.   (Please Note: We will NOT have the online zoom class during these First Sunday Family Services.)  NEXT FIRST SUNDAY FAMILY SERVICE: JUNE 6, 2021.  To learn more about the in-person Sunday Service and to register your family, go here.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Christina Lugo at .

Title:
Cause + Effect (Part 3): How the Cross of Christ Gets Laid on Us
Text: Luke 23:26
Preacher: Nick Weber
Manuscript: If you appreciate following along with written material, you can find today's manuscript here.

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

As the Deer

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee.

You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

I love you more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye

You're my friend and you are my brother
Even though you are a king
I love you more than any other
So much more than anything

God of This City

You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You are

You’re the light in this darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless
You are

There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

Greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done
In this city (x2)
