Foster the City - Letters for Social Workers
Foster the City has opened up a wonderful opportunity for us to bless and encourage social workers that serve Santa Clara county. Many of these individuals are on the front lines of care overseeing heartbreaking foster care cases. They come alongside kids who have faced neglect, abuse, drug addiction, abandonment and many other forms of trauma. They are their advocates with biological parents, foster parents, health and human services, as well as within the legal system. Their days can be filled with great encouragement when they see a child find love, care, and healing; however, more often than not, the road is long, discouraging, and traumatic.
As a way to build up social workers in our area, Foster the City has asked if our church would be willing to write 30 letters of encouragement to help those individuals who are behind the scenes feel seen, known, and loved. We would love to invite you all into doing this with us. This Sunday, March 1st, we will have cards ready for you as you come into the service. Please feel free to take one or more to write a brief word of appreciation. This can be as simple as two or three sentences or sharing a verse that has been encouraging to you.
Please do all you can to complete the card before you leave church on the 1st. Megan Weber will have stamped and addressed envelopes to send off to each individual social worker. The goal is to have a card for every social worker in the county by March 3rd or 4th.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@mercyhillchurch.org.
