Allen at Steinbeck Elementary (our usual location) recently let us know that they will be spraying for pests in preparation for the upcoming school year and we will, unfortunately, not be able to meet in or outside our usual location on Sunday, August 10th.
Thankfully, the school district has supplied us with an alternate meeting location that is just down the street: Henry T. Gunderson High School (622 Gaundabert Ln, San Jose, CA 95136).
We will be meeting in the school’s theater located just steps away from the main parking lot off of Chynoweth Ave. We will have plenty of signs and people out directing the way (you can find a clickable link for driving directions by clicking here).
Also, parents, please note that we will not be able to roll forward with our usual kids ministry programming. Instead, all kids will need to accompany you in the theater for the main service. We will provide a few small activities to keep them engaged. Thanks for your understanding!
As a church we make space on Sundays to gather back together and realign ourselves with God and His ancient ways. The weeks are hard. Our hearts wander. We need His help. And we need one another.
So we sit under the preaching of His Word. We sing songs that reignite and reshape our affections for Him. We take communion as a remembrance of His daily provision in grace for us through the cross. We lift prayers together towards the Father's ear. We linger over lunch and share of the deeper things in life. We laugh. And we cry. Through it all, we come to find that God, in mercy, has given us fresh strength to face another week.
