Immersed into the Name.

Finding Jesus

You keep seeking.  You keep asking.  You keep learning.  Even as you are pursuing God, you come to find that He is and has been, in fact, pursuing you all along (John 6:44; cf. Joel 2:32)!  And, over time, as God draws and softens and opens, you too come to take Jesus as your Lord, Savior and Treasure.  As the good news is preached you see, in the face of Christ, the glory of God (2 Cor 4:6), and you call on Him (Rom 10:13).  You repent of your sin and put your trust in this One who lived, died, and rose for you.

So what now?

People were asking the same thing after Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2): "Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?'” (v. 37).  And what was Peter's response?   "And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized . . .'" (v. 38).

What Is Baptism?

So what is baptism?  Baptism is going public with your faith in Christ.  It's a declaration to the world that you are not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Rom 1:16)—even to you!  It's being immersed into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19).  It's being brought into the very fellowship of the trinity and family of God.  It's a sign and seal of your participation in Christ.  It's going down with Him in His death and rising up with Him in His resurrection life (Rom 6:3-4).  It's passing through the judgment waters of God by way of Jesus our ark (1 Pet 3:20-21).  It's a picture of your new creation in Christ (2 Cor 5:17)!

It's a big decision.  Are you ready?  If you have any questions or are interested in being baptized, please don't hesitate to contact us.
