Call to Worship

Great Are You Lord

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

TOday's Announcements

Here are a few critical announcements to keep in mind:

  • Mercy Hill Men's Bible Study - A Journey through John 6: Men of Mercy Hill!  We have an exciting opportunity coming your way where you can join up with other brothers, get into God's Word, and grow together. Paul Walton, from the Mercy Hill Men's team, is going to be leading a 7-week study through a single (and amazing!) chapter in John's gospel (ch. 6). The plan is to meet at Almaden Lake Park at 9:00am on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month beginning in September (we'll adjust for weather/holidays/etc. as needed). The meeting will be kept to around one hour and will give time for study, group discussion, and personal sharing. To learn more and sign up, click here. If you have any questions, please email Paul Walton at   .
  • Mercy Hill Youth Hangout: All Mercy Hill Youth (6th thru 12th grade) are invited to join us after service next Sunday, September 12th at 12:30pm (note the time change).  We'll have time for fellowship, prayer, and getting in God's Word.  And we even plan to provide some pizza!  We'll meet at the picnic tables in the pavilion around the back of Allen at Steinbeck Elementary where we gather for Sunday Service.  See ya there!  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at
  • Mercy Hill Kids Worship - IN-PERSON TODAY!: We now plan to have in-person instruction for Preschool and Elementary children (2.5 years thru 5th grade) on the FIRST + THIRD Sundays of the month.  (Note: We will NOT have the online zoom class on these Family Service Sundays.)  For more information, please contact Christina Lugo at  .
  • All Church Prayer: This Sunday's All Church Prayer meeting will be hosted in-person at the Wilson Residence from 6:00-7:30pm.  Please go here for more info.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at    .
  • Home Groups: Many of our Home Groups have moved to a hybrid (in-person + virtual) format.  Whatever your comfort level with meeting, you're welcome to come check one out.  Find one to join here.  You are not alone!
  • Installing John Lugo As an Elder of Mercy Hill Church! We are pleased to announce that John Lugo—after an extended process of evaluation and training and a subsequent vote from the covenant members—is ready to be installed as an official elder of Mercy Hill Church!  Please join us in celebrating the great gift God has given us in him!  If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to Nick at

Call to Response

1.  Sing:

Lord I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

More Like Jesus

You came to the world You created
Trading Your crown for a cross
You willingly died, Your innocent life paid the cost

Counting Your stature as nothing
The King of all kings came to serve
Washing my feet, Covering me with Your love

If more of You means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You is all I need
Take everything

You are my life and my treasure
The One that I can't live without
Here at Your feet
My desires and dreams I lay down (Last half x2)

Oh Lord, change me like only You can
Here with my heart in Your hands
Father I pray make me more like Jesus
This world is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
So Father I pray make me more like Jesus

Mercy Hill Kids

While difficult, this pandemic does create a wonderful chance for parents to step towards their God-given call as chief disciplers of their kids.  We know this may feel overwhelming and that is why we want to help!  Parents of Mercy Hill children should have already received an email from the Director of Mercy Hill Kids, Christina Lugo, regarding ways you can utilize the Gospel Project curriculum at home.  This information has also been included on our blog here.  Beyond this, every Sunday we have something for your kids, either in-person or online.  You can check here for more details.  We'd love to have you join us!

If you have any questions or need help in any way, don't hesitate to reach out to Christina at

Have a Wonderful Week!
