November 22, 2020 - Sunday Service Worship Guide
Welcome!
Good morning Mercy Hill and happy Sunday to you! If you're new with us, we just wanted to extend a special welcome to you. Feel free to fill out a Connection Card to get more info or prayer. We're glad to have you with us!
- If you are attending in-person, and you haven't already registered, please do so here. In order to comply with the county's guidelines, we need to do our best to keep record of who joined us each Sunday. Thanks for your understanding!
- If you're tuning in for the Live Stream, we'd encourage everyone to please consider taking a moment to put a comment in the chat box there. Let us know who you are and maybe where you're tuning in from. Say hi. We miss you! And as we get into the message, feel free to share other Scriptures that come to mind, prayer requests that you have, questions that you'd like answered, etc. It would be great to interact even in this limited format.
Call to Worship
Great Are You Lord
You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord
TOday's Announcements
Here are a few critical announcements to keep in mind:
- Teen Challenge Thanksgiving Outreach: Thank you to all who supported the Teen Challenge Thanksgiving Outreach event! We were able to feed 30 adults and children at the Alum Rock Women and Children's Center with a delicious early Thanksgiving dinner. If you didn't get a chance to participate but would still like to give, you can put a note on your giving indicating that you would like your offering to go towards 'Teen Challenge.' These donations will be going towards their thrift store, which is in need of re-carpeting. You can also donate gently used home goods and clothing to their thrift store if desired. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at .
- Mercy Hill Women Event - Save the Date: The Mercy Hill Women's Ministry Team has officially decided on December 5th at 1:00pm for our next event. It will be an online event on zoom filled with fun and fellowship! More details to come but be sure to mark your calendars!
- Mercy Hill Kids Online Worship: Mercy Hill Kids is meeting at 11:45 am now (both Preschool and Elementary class). Go here to read more and to find a link to sign in!
- Prayer Walk: We will be gathering after service today at 1 PM to do a prayer walk in the local neighborhood! So grab lunch after service, and consider joining us to pray for our neighboring community, as we hope to have the opportunity to share the gospel with those who are open and ready to listen. We'll have a brief time before the prayer walk to discuss what to pray for, so we invite anyone regardless of experience to join and learn.
- Leave Us A Review: We'd appreciate a review or pictures from your experience at Mercy Hill Church! This will help us get the word out about our neighborhood church to those who may be new to the area or are looking for a church family. Feel free to leave a review on Yelp, Google (Google search Mercy Hill San Jose and add a review), or our Facebook page. You can also copy and paste your review to make it easier. We'd also encourage you to continue to interact on our Facebook events and posts to bring more exposure in your network!
- Home Groups: Many of our Home Groups have moved to a hybrid (in-person + virtual) format. Whatever your comfort level with meeting, you're welcome to come check one out. Find one to join here. You are not alone!
- COVID-19 SOS Form: If you or anyone you know needs help during this challenging time, we'd love to do what we can! Fill out the form here.

Call to Response
1. Sing:
Cornerstone
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust is Jesus' name
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless, stand before the throne
Living Hope
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke your name into the night
Then through the darkness your loving kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my Living Hope
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of Ages stepped down from Glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of Kings calls me His ow
Beautiful Savior I’m yours forever
Jesus Christ my Living Hope
Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain there’s salvation in your Name
Jesus Christ my Living Hope
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declare the grave has no claim on me
Jesus Yours is the victory

Mercy Hill Kids
While difficult, this pandemic does create a wonderful chance for parents to step towards their God-given call as chief disciplers of their kids. We know this may feel overwhelming and that is why we want to help! Parents of Mercy Hill children should have already received an email from the Director of Mercy Hill Kids, Christina Lugo, regarding ways you can utilize the Gospel Project curriculum at home. This information has also been included on our blog here. Beyond this, each Sunday, we are also looking to host an online worship gathering for our kids. You can check here for more details. We'd love to have you join us!
If you have any questions or need help in any way, don't hesitate to reach out to Christina at
Have a Wonderful Week!
