Good morning Mercy Hill and happy Sunday to you!  If you're new with us, we just wanted to extend a special welcome to you.  Feel free to fill out a Connection Card to get more info or prayer.  We're glad to have you with us!

If you're tuning in for the Live Stream, we'd encourage everyone to please consider taking a moment to put a comment in the chat box there.  Let us know who you are and maybe where you're tuning in from.  Say hi.  We miss you!  And as we get into the message, feel free to share other Scriptures that come to mind, prayer requests that you have, questions that you'd like answered, etc.  It would be great to interact even in this limited format.

TOday's Announcements

Here are a few critical announcements to keep in mind:

  • Church Directory Update: We're updating our church directory to make sure that everyone can stay connected during this time! The directory contains all church members and anyone who calls Mercy Hill their church home and would like to share their contact info with other members and attenders. This document is only shared with those included in the document. As we update and share this directory, we hope you will be encouraged to flip through, pray, or potentially reach out to others within the church to see how they are doing. If you would like to be added to the directory (or if you need your info updated), please contact Jill LeMoine at
  • Mercy Hill Kids Online Worship: Mercy Hill Kids is meeting at 11:45 am (both Preschool and Elementary class). Go here to read more and to find a link to sign in!
  • Members' Meeting: All Mercy Hill Covenant Members, we'll be holding our first Members' Meeting of the year beginning at 1:30pm today on Zoom (all Covenant Members should have already received a link via email).  We've got lots of stuff to discuss and pray over as we look back at the months prior and look forward to the months ahead.  Don't miss it!  (If you're interested in becoming a Covenant Member, you can read more about it and register for the class here.)
  • Ladies Bible Study - It's not too late!: Women of Mercy Hill, please join us for a Bible study going through The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus’ directions for life in Christ found in Matthew 5-7. Beginning February 23rd, we’ll gather every other Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:00pm for nine sessions. We’ll spend time individually beforehand in God’s word, using Jen Wilkins’ highly recommended study guide, and then meet collectively on Zoom for discussion and prayer. Mercy Hill Kids

While difficult, this pandemic does create a wonderful chance for parents to step towards their God-given call as chief disciplers of their kids.  We know this may feel overwhelming and that is why we want to help!  Parents of Mercy Hill children should have already received an email from the Director of Mercy Hill Kids, Christina Lugo, regarding ways you can utilize the Gospel Project curriculum at home.  This information has also been included on our blog here.  Beyond this, each Sunday, we are also hosting an online worship gathering for our kids.  You can check here for more details.  We'd love to have you join us!

  • Ladies Bible Study: Women of Mercy Hill, please join us for a Bible study going through The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus’ directions for life in Christ found in Matthew 5-7. Beginning February 23rd, we’ll gather every other Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:00pm for nine sessions. We’ll spend time individually beforehand in God’s word, using Jen Wilkins’ highly recommended study guide, and then meet collectively on Zoom for discussion and prayer.   • All Church Prayer: The All Church Prayer meeting will be held online this afternoon beginning at 4:00pm.  At Mercy Hill we believe that prayer is the start of everything good.  Would you make a priority of seeking God together with us?!  Find a link to join in with us herePlease especially note the new time for this meeting.  It used to be 6:00-7:30pm but will now be held from 4:00-5:30pm.  We hope this works for you!
  • Welcoming into Covenant Membership: This morning please join us in welcoming in one new Covenant Member: Richard Liaw!  Covenant membership at Mercy Hill is a way of going all in with us as we commit to “be the body” here and now together (1 Cor 12:27). It’s a way of formalizing your commitment to this church—its members, leaders, mission, and ministries. It’s a promise we make to one another—that we will participate meaningfully in this local assembly as we pursue God’s presence, grow together as His people, and live for His purpose in the world.  Click here to learn more!

How Deep the Father's Love for Us

How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure
That he should give his only son, to make a wretch his treasure
How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turned his face away
As wounds which mar the chosen one, bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon his shoulders
